Welcome to Damn Good Milkshake! This is our new blog about things that we, the writers, find entertaining, specifically film and television. We're not professionals by any means; we just have feelings and opinions about works of art that we would like to express and will be doing so here. So if you care to read the honest opinion of some casual observers, I say again: welcome!
We won't really be adhering to a strict format here, jumping around from reviews to predictions to general thoughts and musings about shows or movies. It's also possible that we won't necessarily be writing about brand new releases. Classic films are ones that stand the test of time and maybe we'll have something to say about those too.
We hope you enjoy reading what we have to say and contributing to discussion in the comments. We urge you to let us know when you think we're wrong and/or let us know how bad we are at writing.
Just as a preview (and maybe a teaser if you find any of these topics interesting), here are some things I'm currently working on and should appear here on the blog in the near future: reviews of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit and hit Showtime drama Homeland and a preview of the highly-anticipated third season of HBO's Game of Thrones.
My co-admin Rachael is trying to complete the 365 film challenge for the year 2013 (3 days in and she's already got 6!), spanning various genres and styles of film from pre code to modern day cinema. She'll be posting about many, but not all, of her viewings here.
